GST BOCES Adult Education program named a Candidate for Accreditation

Greater Southern Tier BOCES Adult Education and Training Program, 459 Philo Road, Elmira, recently was named a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Occupational Education.

This is a pre-accreditation status granted to institutions that are actively seeking accreditation by the Council.

The next step in the process for GST BOCES is to complete a self-study based on the standards, criteria and conditions of the Council and to host a visiting team before it is reviewed for accreditation.

The Council on Occupational Education offers quality assurance service to postsecondary workforce education providers across the country. Institutional accreditation by the Council is recognized by the US Department of Education and allows organizations to apply for certain forms of Federal funding.
